Commit to Doing Less in 2026

A couple sitting by a beach campfire at night

Here we are, staring at the clean pages of a new year—thinking about goals, words, and ways to do better than last year.

Our brains crave novelty, so we reach for new diets, workouts, habits, and apps.

But what if the question this year isn’t "What should I add?"

What if it’s "What could I release?"

Where am I leading out of habit instead of necessity?

Could fewer, more intentional workouts create better results—and more rest?

Do I need another tool for efficiency, or do I simply need to unplug?

Are the people I feel obligated to stay connected to actually nourishing my life?

Does open space on my calendar feel freeing—or do I rush to fill it and feel emptier for it?

Each year brings more clarity: as I carve out space for quiet, prayer, and stillness, I need less to feel joyful and fulfilled.

Less noise. Less striving. Less proving.

With less, I am more present for those I love.

I value myself enough to protect my time—blocking space not to be productive, but to listen to what my heart and soul need in that moment.

Can I still give that time away?

Sometimes.

But only after I pause.

Maybe in 2026, doing less is the most meaningful commitment we can make.

Feel free to shoot me your thoughts at your leisure.
